This product worked fine initially. However, after 24 hours it stopped working completely (recognized by the PC but no signal). It now works again but with extremely poor performance. Its range is about 10 feet from the router which defeats the purpose of being wireless. I've attempted to return the product but the seller refuses to give a refund. Buyer beware.
Updated Sept. 14, 2010: After this leaving negative feedback on this item I was contacted by the seller and offered bribes of gift certificates and more to remove my comments from Amazon. Just stay away from this company.
Update 2, Oct. 14, 2010: The seller has continued to email me begging for this negative review to be removed. Despite my requests to stop contacting me, the emails have now become harassing phone calls. Really, just stay away.

I downloaded the software and started using the wireless card. However, 30 minutes after I got a virus on my computer. I have never gotten a virus before so it was strange that as soon as I installed the wireless card and software I got the virus. Luckily, I got the virus out and try to use the card again, but was unable to get in the internet and my computer kept freezing. Once I took the wire less card out, my computer works fine. THis product is very poor quality.

I received the battery rather quickly and everything was in order. The battery itself lasts more like 5 hours of regular use and not 10+ like advertised. I believe that's true for any given battery, the stated numbers are always theoretical and in practice is much less than that, even in my experience with Mac laptops. In any event, I own a EEE PC clamshell and I used to get about 1.5 or 2 hours max, so getting a bit over twice that amount of battery life is a plus. It is much heavier than the old battery though, which was a bit disappointing because I got the EEE for ultraportability.
In short:
PROS: Definitely able to be detached from a power outlet longer, but far from being even 10 hours. No issues with seller, very fast service.
CONS: Feels more than twice as heavy as the old, lesser-capacity battery. A bit pricey for what you really get out of the battery, considering that I got the netbook for $250 and the battery... Read more

I have had an Asus Eee PC for a couple of years. Recently the battery completely died. It would work on AC but the battery would not recharge and it would not even recognize that it had a battery. I ordered this replacement battery, snapped it in and I'm back in business. Problem solved and it could not have been easier. I like my little e-book so I'm glad the solution was this simple.

When my EEE 1005HA-P stopped charging the battery, I was worried. For less than $30 I bought this unit as a replacement and hoped it was a battery problem, not a hardware issue inside the EEE itself. This new battery charges and works just fine. I couldn't be happier that my 2 year old netbook is back in working order.
As for the battery, well it works fine. This is a 4800mAh unit and my old one was 5400ish. Which means my time running off the battery is slightly reduced. Asus used to claim 10 hours of runtime on the old battery when you'd actually get 8.5 hours. With the new battery, I'm looking at more like 7 hours in wifi-enabled normal use. Not bad at all really. I just have to be a little more careful to plug the unit in if I'm not going to be using it.
In terms of form factor, this is a great replacement. A lot of the newer larger capacity batteries for the 1005 have 12+ hour batter lives. But in order to get that extra battery life they need... Read more
